Food For Lane County Donor Dinner & Auction

This again was a wonderful event put on by the Directors, staff, and volunteers of Food for Lane County. This was an event to thank our donors and to raise money for the organization. There were silent auctions, a Diamond and Tanzinite ring worth $5400.00 that I was honored to wear and showcase for the guests; they all had an opportunity to purchase a $100.00 tiger with the chance that their tiger would have the ring attached. There was great food and entertainment, the theme of India was beautiful and the dancers were great. To be a part of such a great organization that helps so many families is a blessing. Thank you Food for Lane County for allowing me to participate.

Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure

The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure had over 40,000 participants. I had such a wonderful time with all my new friends from the pageant. These women are truly amazing and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Angela (Mrs. Clackamas) and I had so much fun talking and remembering stories from our earlier childhood. We watched together the many participants of the race as they passed us or walked along side of us, many had stories of their own; from walking for themselves to walking for a loved one or in remembrance of someone, this was such a touching moment. As we crossed the finish line, a wonderful roar exploded from the crowd. There were tears of joy, laughter, and I am sure some sadness. To see so many community members from near and far come together to raise money and walk and run to fight cancer was an awesome experience that I will never forget. I am proud that the Mrs. Oregon America pageant is part of this and allowed me as Mrs. Eugene to participate. Thanks so much to Delicia for setting everything up so that we all could participate together.
